Roberts Park

Roberts Park is in Saltaire.It was first designed by William Gay who was friends with Sir Titus Salt and Roberts park was opened on 25th of July 1871 by Sir Titus Salt.

The park moves Southwards from the river Aire.One half of the ground is beautifully spread with flower beds ,and the other half is laid out with broad graveled.The main focus of the park is the Half-Moon pavilion which is the tea room.

In 1891 the park was bought by Sir James Robert.In 1903 a bronze statue of Sir Titus Salt was placed on the main promenade.On the 1st August the park was named Roberts park when Sir James Robert gave it to the council.
In 2001 Saltaire including Roberts park was a public site,the park was opened at all times and is free of entry.
