History of Titus Salt School:
When Sir Titus Salt founded his School it was on a different site on Victoria Road in Saltaire, this was also opposite his Victoria Hall. It was still located in the late there in the late 1940s and early 1950s. However from about 1945 the school was segregated into Boys and Girls, and was called 'Salts High School'. In those days it was a 'grammar' School, though now it is a 'Comprehensive' School.
Titus Salt School is a new school under the former Labour government's 'Building Schools for the Future' scheme. Titus Salt School was shortlisted for the scheme and then won permission to build. In September 2008, the school opened for students and the old building (Salt Grammar School) was demolished shortly after.
