Tourism

Tourism is a huge part of Saltaire. Saltaire is hugely known for its attractions. Firstly, Roberts Park is a major part of the village, it has recently been newly made. Not only does it have a huge picnic and grass area but it also has it's very own children's games area and cafe. It also has a stunning statue of Sir Titus Salt.

There is also the United Reformed Church, this was built by Sir Titus Salt in 1859 for the spiritual needs for his workers. Saltaire is now one of the 1800 local United Reformed Churches, in England, Scotland & Wales.

Victoria Hall is another one of the attractions that makes Saltaire bring in the tourists. It was built in 1969 by Sir Titus Salt. It offered a library, dance hall, lecture theater, meeting rooms, billiards room, and gymnasium. Victoria Hall is now a place open to all functions like weddings, dinner dances, parties, events, festivals and performances.

Salts Mill is the building that Saltaire is most well known for. Sir Titus Salt built Salts Mill as a mill that made cloth. When it first opened in 1853 it was the biggest factory in the world! It is now an art gallery, shopping, and a restaurant. Salt's Mill displays lots of pictures from local artist David Hockney. David Hockney is another reason why tourists come to visit Saltaire. Since David was born in Saltaire, it has been one of his inspirations and motivations.
